Cincinnati is the home of the American professional soccer team Football Club Cincinnati, or FC Cincinnati for short. The team competes in Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Eastern Conference.

On May 29, 2018, MLS awarded Cincinnati an expansion franchise, and the team was subsequently announced. They replaced the lower-division team of the same name. On March 2, 2019, the team played its inaugural MLS match against Seattle Sounders FC. Carl H. is the owner group’s leader. With Jeff Berding serving as co-CEO, is Lindner III.

In the expansion draft, which was held on December 11, 2018, FC Cincinnati selected five players from specific MLS teams. The participants were Darren Mattocks (D. C United), Kei Kamara of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Roland Lamah of FC Dallas, Eric Alexander of the Houston Dynamo, and Hassan Ndam of the New York Red Bulls. After that, Kei Kamara was exchanged for a spot on the international roster and sent to the Colorado Rapids.

The appointment of Chris Albright as the team’s general manager was made public by FC Cincinnati on October 4, 2021.

FC Cincinnati formally hired Pat Noonan as the team’s new head coach on December 14, 2021.

The Orange and Blue would make it to their first postseason under the Albright-Noonan administration in 2022 with 49 points (12-9-13), good for fifth in the East (eighth in the league). Brenner and Brandon Vazquez would score a combined 18 goals in the regular season, the most in MLS history for teammates. Luciano Acosta also contributed 10 goals and a league-high 19 assists to a Cincinnati team that finished the season with 64 goals.

Cincinnati won their first playoff game against the New York Red Bulls (2-1), but fell to top-seeded Philadelphia Union in the conference semifinals (1-0).

Cincinnati are certainly a team full of quality attacking prospects and an attacking stack of high quality is possible. A decent stack of 5 is also possible here. A good team on the rise and should score plenty of goals with their attacking players. However, due to this they may also concede a few goals.
